If the ascendant lord i.e. the the owner of the house where the ascendant is stationed, is strong and the other planets occupy angles, trines, own houses or exaltation signs, Mridanga Yoga is formed.
Angles means 1st, 4th, 7th and 10th house from the ascendant. Trines implies 5th and 9th from ascendant. First step is to check for the strength or otherwise of the Lord of the ascendant. If he is strong, then check where the other planets are situated with respect to the ascendant. If all planets meet the above criteria, this yoga is formed. Such a person will be a king or like a king and be happy.
If the Lord of the ascendant is weak, this yoga will not take effect. Also if there are other planets in the ascendant or watching the ascendant, effects depend on the strengths of those planets.
Example:
This is the horoscope of a person who is born on 29/4/1980 at 4.48 am at New Delhi.

In this case, Moon is in the 1st house, Sun, Venus, Mercury, Saturn and Jupiter are in the 7th house and Mars is in the 9th house. Ignoring Rahu and Ketu, the conditions prescribed above are met. This person can be a king or in a similar position. However, Sun is debilitated, Venus is own house but combust and Saturn is exalted but combust. Jupiter is also Extreme Enemy. Mercury is also combust. These aspects need to be kept in mind before stating that the person can be a king.
Another example:

Sun is in 10th house, Moon, Mars and Saturn are in 7th house and Mercury, Jupiter and Venus are in 9th house. The conditions for this yoga are met if we ignore Rahu and Ketu. Saturn and Jupiter are well placed which will assist this person in becoming the king or like a king. However, Venus is not strong. This could impact the yoga effects.
There are no remedies being prescribed since we are only checking whether a particular yoga is applicable or not. In the above two cases, it is close to being satisfied.
