The Sun has shifted from Gemini to Cancer around 15th July, 2024. Generally, we tend to consider only this shift. However, it is important to understand that within each sign, there are around three nakshatras and the planets move through these nakshatras while transiting that sign. The Sun is likely to transit from Pushya nakshatra to Ashlesha around the 2nd of August, 2024.
General effect
When Sun is in Pushya, he will be having a very good effect – he can give authority, bravery, truthfulness, good behaviour, wealth etc.
When Sun moves to Ashlesha, he will be negative in effect – he can cause people to be greedy and troublesome.
If the Sun is generally well placed in the horoscope of the person, the effect of the Sun being in Pushya will give excellent results. However, if the Sun is not so placed, the effect will be neutral. When the Sun transits to Ashlesha in the first case, the effects of Sun will be neutral. In the second case, it will be a very difficult time for the person concerned.
Example 1
A male born on 16/4/1987 at 11.29 am at Hyderabad, India.

Sun is exalted in the horoscope. He is in the 11th house which represents income. Income will increase while he is transiting through Pushya. However, when he shifts into Ashlesha, income will neither increase nor decrease.
Sun is in Mars’ house and Mars is in 12th house. Hence, Sun might give mixed results.
Example 2
A person born on 16/10/1982 at 11.30 am at Jamshedpur.

Sun is debilitated. When in Pushya, the effects may be neutral. However, when he is Ashlesha, this person is likely to have extreme distress especially with respect to father, elders, government, will lack courage, lose income etc. However, keeping in mind the other planets such as Saturn and Jupiter, Sun is likely to give mixed results.
